From dimensions to dieline

The customer enters length, width and height. The engine computes the flat size for the box style, including glue flaps and tuck flaps, using formulas you can adjust per style.

• Tuck-end boxes, crash-lock bottom boxes and mailer boxes with built-in dieline formulas.
• Paper bags with gusset, handle and bottom-board options.
• Custom flat size for anything else, so unusual structures still get a sheet-based price.

Three layout algorithms on every sheet

Each candidate sheet is laid out three ways: straight, rotated 90°, and a mixed guillotine layout that combines both orientations while keeping every cut a straight, edge-to-edge cut a paper cutter can follow.

Bleed is added around each piece and the gripper margin is reserved on the long edge. A grain-direction lock restricts the layouts to the allowed orientation when the paperboard's grain matters.

Compared by total cost

More pieces per sheet is not always cheaper. A larger sheet may need a larger press with a higher make-ready fee, or a stock that only comes in certain sizes. Sheetwise scores each sheet × cut × press × layout combination by paper, printing and finishing cost and picks the lowest total.

Staff see the runner-up combinations next to the winner, so an estimator can override with a reason when a job calls for it.

• Default sheet sizes: 787×1092 and 889×1194 for the China standard; B1 720×1020, 700×1000 and SRA1 640×900 for the international standard. Add your own.
