Carton quotes without an estimator's afternoon
A custom carton quote means unfolding the dieline, choosing a sheet, checking the press and adding six or seven processes. Sheetwise does that while the customer is still on the page.
What the customer chooses
- Box style: tuck-end, crash-lock bottom, mailer, or a custom flat size.
- Inside dimensions, quantity, board type and weight: SBS/ivory board, coated art paper, kraft board, grey-back duplex, or your own list.
- Printing sides, lamination, foil stamping with die size, E-flute mounting, die cutting and gluing.
What the engine does
- Computes the flat size from the style formula, including glue and tuck flaps.
- Imposes it on every sheet size × cut × press you own, with straight, rotated and mixed layouts, and keeps the cheapest total.
- Prices paper by weight and ton price, printing by press make-ready and per-thousand rate, and each finishing process by its own unit.
- Applies the customer's tier discount and, for reps, the discount cap and margin floor.
Rules that say no with a reason
Process constraints are configurable and enforced at quote time with a readable message instead of a silent wrong price.
- E-flute mounting requires a liner above a minimum weight.
- Foil dies are limited to a maximum side length; larger jobs are routed to a manual quote.
- Minimum order quantity per style.
After the quote
Customers upload artwork and order; your team reviews and approves; the production order goes to your ERP automatically and production and shipping status comes back to the customer's order page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own dieline formulas?
Glue flap, tuck flap and other dieline parameters are configurable. Custom flat size covers structures outside the built-in styles.
Does it handle rigid boxes or corrugated shipping boxes?
Not as built-in styles. Custom flat size plus your process list can approximate them, but the engine is designed for sheet-fed folding cartons.
Can international customers get quotes in their currency?
Yes. A workspace on the international standard uses its own currency, tax rate and ISO sheet sizes; the interface is available in English and Chinese.
